Youth and Children's Minister

The Youth and Children's Minister will oversee the spiritual development of young people within the church by leading programs and activities designed to nurture their faith and connection to the church community. This role involves teaching, pastoral care, event planning, and volunteer management, working to integrate the youth and children's ministry into the broader church mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Teaching:

Creating and leading age-appropriate educational programs, including Sunday school, Bible studies, and youth group meetings.

Event Planning:

Organizing and executing special events like retreats, camps, mission trips, and holiday programs.

Pastoral Care:

Providing support, guidance, and counseling to youth, children, and their families.

Volunteer Management:

Recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers for youth and children’s ministry programs.

Community Engagement:

Fostering relationships with families, collaborating with other church staff, and potentially reaching out to unchurched youth in the community.

Administration:

Managing budgets, maintaining records, and communicating with parents and guardians.

Specific tasks may include:

  • Leading weekly youth group meetings and Sunday school classes
  • Organizing outreach events and activities
  • Mentoring and discipling young people
  • Providing support and guidance to families
  • Developing and implementing a vision for youth and children’s ministry
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs

In essence, the Youth and Children’s Minister acts as a bridge between the church and its young people, fostering spiritual growth and helping them integrate into the church community.

Qualifications desired:

·       Professing follower of Jesus as Savior and Lord

·       Deep knowledge and understanding of scripture.

·       Effective Communication Skills.

·       Experience Leading Others.

·       Participation in Effective Youth and Children’s Ministry.

·       A consistent and maturing spiritual life

·       A willingness to teach and minister in a manner consistent with BFM 2000.

Pay Rate:

  • 20 hours weekly at $28/hour
  • Educational stipend for students

This position can potentially lead to full time.
